Siegelord Fair Reviews

Are you complaining that every SLG you played is just of the same and simple gameplay? You are facing the overwhelming information of game news, reviews, advertorials, advertising and videos and sometimes you can't even tell which viewpoint is fairer. I hope every one of you interested in strategy game can stop for a second and turn your eyes to Siegelord, a new SLG released last December.

I didn’t find Siegelord to be as much of a grind as most other strategy games because it indeed innovate a few things every week.I wasn't online for Siegelord about nearly one week until today for i was on a short tour but I was really surprised by the new update this time. You see, there is a large dice listed on the lower right side. You have six free chances to play it. Which number you played out determines how many steps you can go forward and what resources will you receive. It's just like you are playing the dice game with your partner at desk.

Siegelord update-play dice

Yeah, this is quite new, isn't it? Let's continue.

Three kingdoms of Siegelord

Before you can start the game you are required to choose your belonging of which kingdom you'd like to stay. There are three different nations, and a very nice looking world map to facilitate your choice. After reading a brief description of each nation you will come to the next step of choosing one of four different avatars, and there is probably at least one that fits your personality.

Four avatar for your choice in Siegelord

Unlike in other games that you are only given one plot of buildable land, Siegelord gives you several plots or village, each dedicated to the fabrication of a specific resource. For example one plot will be dedicated to military production while another might be dedicated to wood. Then, of course, you have your standard residences which generate gold. This game differs slightly in the area of settlement in that at the center of your various plots of land, you have a massive palace which you can occupy. The position you hold in said palace will define the amount of resources you receive per hour, and you can always try to move up the food chain a bit if you wish.

All structures are upgradeable, and as you work your way through the available quests, you will be automatically tasked with upgrading them. In the beginning this is easier simply because you have access to an ‘autocomplete’, as well as the ability to upgrade all possible buildings simultaneously. The only thing that keeps you from upgrading all of them is a lack of construction workers which can be remedied.

The game has instances, as you might expect from an MMO like this, and they each contribute to the story. The story, however, is about as clear as mud, and you are simply trying to retake territory. Honestly, the story does not have much to do with the true nature of the game, which we will get to in a moment.

The instances present themselves as villages across a map, and your goal is to take each village using the army you create. You do not create the army directly, but rather recruit generals during battles, and those generals will recruit men to their cause. As you conquer each village, you move closer to the end of the map, and at the very end, you are usually given access to a new general who will be sent to the ‘tavern’ tab.

Dismiss the general in Siegelord

With your army fully recruited you will be able to attack. After you reached certain level, you will be able to choose another stronger general. During each general’s first attack you will have four different choices. You may assault, guard, retreat, or send the general in to cause damage all by themselves. You can let the general automatically fight with their enemy if you don't have enough time manipulating the game but still want to accumulate Exp. I suggest you playing by yourself in that you can indeed apply your intelligence and tactics.

When you apply your tactic, you should use the general power carefully because the general can be chosen only for one time then comes to the three conventional tactics.

Let’s say for example the enemy has chosen the assault tactic. You should either choose to block, or you could choose to assault them head on. Blocking has more of a chance of working properly, but your assault may in fact break theirs. If their tactic is broken, you are automatically awarded the first strike in the battle, which can determine the victory. Still, at some point during the battle, it comes down to sheer numbers and whether or not you have them.

Apply your general power in siegelord

As with any browser-based game today you will need to pay a bit of money if you expect to advance to the endgame. This will mean, of course, buying diamonds which allow you to speed up production and provide you more chances to obtain better equipment. Different level equipment is denoted with varying colors such as blue, green, purple, etc. Your access to these amenities will be allowed a few times every hour, but you will find that you constantly need better equipment to move forward, and for this you may find yourself buying diamond recharge packs to click just ‘one more time’.

While, it seems that how soon you can push your playing of siegelord can't be predicted since it always comes out new content every week that drives you back to the game. In my opinion, the game can be enjoyed without paying if you wish. As a casual player, you would certainly be in luck as me.

One of the most amusing aspects of the game is ‘praying’ for resources. Yes, you heard that right; you can pray for resources and they will be granted to you. You can only pray a certain number of times however before the game will stop you and ask that you purchase more diamonds to continue praying. I assume this is like making a donation to the church.

As I played through the game up to level forty I did find the battles pretty enjoyable, particularly being able to choose the strategy I wanted at the beginning. In some cases I found it more helpful to deploy my general in the middle of the fight rather than at the beginning simply to give myself more of an edge. You can certainly try any tactics you wish when you decide to give Siegelord a try.

As far as I can see, the pro and cons are as follows:
Pros: Endless creation.
         Clear graphics.
         Abundant rewards.
         More intelligence application.
         Strong community.

Cons: Slow upgrade.

I'd like give siegelord a score of 4.6 out of 5.

Video on Applying Tactics in Siegelord

The close beta of Siegelord, a new free to play browser game has been opened yesterday. I think it's quite a good medieval game. Only the intelligent player can make the achievements. At the beginning, there are three tactics to apply. They are "defend", "attack" and "assault" which reinforce each other as the picture shows.

There are only 5-10 seconds for you to consider which tactic is better for battling so you need to react quickly. Once time was out, the system will randomly select one tactic for you, which is maybe of weak strength. In a world of flames, tactics determines the success. Let's Play Siegelord right now !

Reviews on Chibi Warriors

Chibi Warriors, is totally developed for girls in my opinion. This is a casual RPG and RPG without cruel  battles in. Integrated with character progressions as well, chibi warriors can let you strengthen the character capacity quickly. The playing method is the simplest among all the browser games i'v ever played. There are five things you need to do each time you logged in the game as the following picture shows.
Five things to do in Chibi Warriors
Don't forget to collect grain and gold with which you can enhance or forge your equipment. The merits and ingots beside are for upgrading tech or buying special items such as black iron, soft leather, agate, pine wood, etc.

After you upgraded to lv20, you can dispatch four soldiers. But before lv20, only three are available. The fifth position won't be unlocked until you reached lv35. One interesting thing is when you point to the people in the manor, they would wave their hands or kneel down to you.

Fight with your Dragon in Dragon Atlas

fight with your dragon in Dragon Atlas

Dragon has long been one of the most popular themes for browser games. Especially in those Western cultural based ones, "dragon" is often the important element in terms of the storyline and gameplay. What is special for this time is that there is a browser game which has also used "dragon" as its theme and feature. So let's take a look at 37Games' Dragon Atlas

The storyline of this game is based on Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). It's a game that is mainly categorized as RPG but played in a SLG way. With the core element of dragon and its combination with a Japanese style of character design, players will be experiencing a world of dragons and dungeons, which is mysterious and unknown.

Compared to those traditional genre of "completing and passing through one battle by another", which could seem a bit restricted and "having to follow", Dragon Atlas provide more choices and possibilities in terms of walking through the quest line in the map. Players can discovers some extra events by opening certain chests, manipulating some traps correctly and unlocking hidden gates with the key required. There are often some unexpected events during the adventure in game.

In terms of battle, it's more likely to be both turn-based strategic and hand control way. Each turn in battle requires players' tactical deployment of characters and skills. Apart from that, manual changing of characters' position during a fight is also necessary for victory. And players need to cast spells in the right time in order to touch off the effect of skill chain to deal more damage.

Since dragon is the key feature of the game, the cultivation of dragon as your partner in fight is also another way of playing. By doing the main quest line, we can obtain an egg and a young dragon will be born soon. After its birth, we need to cultivate it by feeding and fighting together to get your dragon more experience to improve its ability. There are several periods of evaluation of dragons, from its adolescent stage to mature period and finally it turns into an elder dragon which possesses stronger power. Dragons can learn skills when they reach certain stage. Rome wasn't built in a day. Cultivating dragons is a long process and players will see the gradual growth of it. Once your dragon grows mature enough to fight, it can be your most powerful and loyal companion in battle.

Another important to notice is that we can form our battle team by recruiting mercenaries from tavern. There are hundreds of mercenaries awaiting in tavern and we can choose whom we want to group. Of course, each character has his or her own designed appearance and what's more important is that different characters have different skills and we can combine the best match of skills we think by selecting different mercenaries.

The quest line also allows us to get some plans for crafting weapons. For plans in higher level, we need to collect honor points by defeating enemies in order to exchange with it. Weapons can be improved by reforging and enhancing. The appearance of weapons will also depend on the degree of improvement. In this case, we can design our own weapon with an unique look.

There are still some systems and ways of playing that need to be discover in the following time of playing. For now, I would say this game has quite a lot of features that catches my eyes. I will be continuing the playing and hope to share more with you. Play Dragon Atlas now! Have fun!

Shifu-The New Browser Game Worth Trying

Since westernization has become a globalizing trend in the world, now many online games tend to be designed in a Western way. However, with the rise of Asian culture in recent years, onlines games themed with what has been called "the mysterious Oriental culture" have been growing more and more popular. So this time let's try some different stuffs. Let's take a look at this traditional Chinese culturally designed browser game, Shifu.

Browser game Shifu Review

Background of the Game

As the game is based on three traditional Chinese Kung fu stories, The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre and The Condor Heroes Return, written by the famous Chinese Kung fu novelist, Louis Cha Leung-yung, widely known as Jin Yong. So if anyone has already read his books previously, he or she would be more familiar with the storyline and the roles of the game. Of course, all the places that have been described in Jin Yong's books will be presented in the game, such as Zhongnan Mountain, Passionless Valley and Taohua Island, etc. We, players, will be completing a series of main quests that are based on the original story.

Characters in Game

Browser game Shifu Review

Male and female characters are available for player to choose in Shifu. Actually both of these two gender also represent two kinds of class in game. According to the different use of weapon for both characters, male might be the broadsword master and female is sword master. The appearance of both gender is designed on the basis of traditional Chinese Kung fu novels and movies, in which men are more likely to be more domineering and ladies look more elegant and resplendent. This design of characters would allow players to strengthen their sense of identification and immersion in game.

I would like to give a brief introduction of the characteristics of both classes. The male character seems to be better at defence and physical skills, which is defined as "external power" by Chinese Kung fu practisers. He would more probably be a "tank" as he has more bonus on health points and armour compared to the female one. The range of male's attack is pretty wide based on his skills and weapon, a broadsword. On the other hand, the female character is more likely to play magic skills, called "internal power" in many traditional Chinese Kung fu stories. Sword is mainly used as the principal weapon by the female in game. However, compared to the male one, using sword to attack would reduce the range of skills but can do more damage on one target and the female's viability in game would be relatively lower than the male.

UI and Music

                      Browser game Shifu Review

The feature of Chinese legends, such as Chinese fairy culture and the concept of Chinese god, is well represented by the UI and the music in game. In terms of the UI, compared to other games of the same type, it looks rather bright-coloured and simply clear that players would experience the graphic and visual pleasure. For its music, although there are not a lot of background soundtracks, the quality of each soundtrack is not bad at all. The music in game is play mostly by traditional Chinese instruments such as flute, Dizi and Guqin, which strengthens the Chinese feature of the game.

The Difficulty of the Game

Like some other online ARPGs, it is quite easy and fast for fresh players to level above 20 by following the guidance for novice players. If you are a fan of this type of game and have a lot of experience of playing, there shouldn't be any problems at the beginning. After achieving the level 30, a new system in game will be unlocked. It is like a "raid" system. The content and scene of each scenario are based on the plots of Chinese Kung fu stories. It's something featured in the game. Of course each scenario can be entered over and over again but just don't forget to reset them after finishing a raid. Actually, when players go beyond the level 30, it might not be sufficient for gaining more experience points simply completing quests. So the system of "on-hook". This function allows players to kill monsters without having to sit in front of their computer. This system is quite humanised. Players can modify the setting according to the level of their characters. It is recommended to choose a place where the monsters have 3 or 5 levels higher than our character but it should be based on our items. Players who have better items would better improve themselves by killing more powerful monsters in order to gain more experience.

Conclusion

To sum up, there are still a lot of featured systems in Shifu, such as adventure mode, lucky wheel, disciple system and mount. For those who like challenging themselves in game, there are some powerful bosses to be killed and which provide a large amount of reward. However, practicing would tell how all these features are played out so let's play Shifu now!
